EPIC March Student of the Month

Congratulations to our March student of the month. Maria Josefina Galvez Majano our Mecca Ca. EPIC de Cesar Chávez high school student. Her teacher is Ms. Guadalupe Arredondo. This is what Maria’s teacher said about her dedication. “ Maria is a very devoted student. She is married and has 3 grown scholars attending California’s finest universities 👏👏.  Maria has been in school for 2 years now and day by day shows her dedication and growth to her education. During this hard time of the Pandemic, Maria has put all her efforts in learning the use of technology and learning all the new programs that have been introduced. Although she works long hours in the the fields,  she comes home and joins my daily zooms to discuss and review her assignments. She is truly a fine example of Cesar’s dream on education” Ms. Arredondo adds this quote “The end of all knowledge must be the building up of character” Maria not only works hard with her hands, but is now enriching her mind. Sonia Maria Sotomayor born June 25, 1954, is an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States.  Sotomayor was born in the Bronx, New York City, to Puerto Rican-born parents. As our students continue to strive to be the best, we want to feature Jose Mata Rosas.  His teacher Ms. Ruby Torres says he is deserving of being one of many of September's students of the month. Jose is an EPIC de Cesar Chavez high school student in Riverside. Jose works more than 40 hours a week and makes sure to attend a class every day, even if it's just for a couple of hours.  His job often asks him to work overtime, but he still makes school a priority. During class, Jose is actively engaged in all class activities and goes above and beyond to help others in the classroom. His desire to learn is infectious to the other students in class.  Jose perfectly models FIELD's core values. Congratulations Jose, keep up the good work.
